UTC West Campus Housing
The West Campus Housing at UTC will house 600 students and provides 680 new parking spaces. A new tennis center and maintenance building is included with the project. The 209,500 sf building was designed to visually bridge the architecture of the campus and that of the new developments on Vine Street and the surrounding downtown.
UTC Library
The Library at UTC replaces the 1972 Lupton Library, which was also designed by DH&W. The design organizes the library’s 180,000 sf on five floors. The main collection is housed on the first floor, with the remaining floors providing a 24/7 study lounge, 150 computer stations, 75 study/meeting rooms, archives and multi-media collection.
UTC ARC
Built in two phases, this three story structure provides a state of the art fitness center for the general student population. The 115,000 sf facility offers a wide range of water activities: 5 lane lap pool, 20 foot high water slide and plunge pool, a tube and kayak lazy river, a kayak plunge pool, water volley ball and basketball, zero entry pool for accessibility and 20 person hot tub.
Templeton Library
Strategically located on Monteagle Mountain near the University oft eh South, Sir John Templeton envisioned a stately edifice for research and reflection erected on his property overlooking his hometown of Manchester, Tennessee. The result of his vison is a carefully executed neo-classical structure, completed in 2000, which surrounds a research library with spacious apartments and stunning vistas of the Cumberland Plateau.
